My friend Mike challenged me to check out the Fiery Furnaces a couple of weeks ago. He told me that they were a weird and fucked up music group. I listened to the track that he sent me and I agreed. The Fiery Furnaces is children's music made for the Alice and Wonderland set. Familiar tropes for kids inversed and repacked for the adult set. Despite their originality, it's hard to love the Fiery Furnaces. I find their music to be to over produced and unfocused. My Dog Is Lost But Now He's Found is one of the Fiery Furnaces better songs, exchanging ADD kid's music for a rather sedate look at searching for one's canine friend. It's their most accessable song and worth checking out if you want an intro to their work.
